My LCD monitor did not support a Sony NP-FM500H battery as advertised, and I was about to buy another battery model (and charger) but hit upon the idea of wedging the otherwise loose battery, which will save me weight and battery compatibility issues when travelling.
The clip's centre circle was made to save material and weight and provide a grip. L lip includes a hole to fit a 1/4" 20 tripod screw through to secure the clip.
