Some cycling shoes have soles that are slightly too thick for use with some cleats. This simple thing is a spacer to put under the cleat to make it easier to clip in and out with such shoes.
I use 0.9mm-thick shims with my Crank Bros. cleats and Keen Commuter sandals, but it may work with other two-bolt walkable cleats.
